Mechanical Engineer

Overview:

You will turn our new prototype aerosol instrumentation into our next big products. With the prototyping legwork completed, you will design, improve, build, test, and plan our new instrumentation ready for final production. 
Further, you will be responsible for improving our current product range, and providing solutions to our mechanical challenges.

Job Description: 

  • Mechanical engineering of new products [aerosol instrumentation]
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Complete technical drawings with standard geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T), based on CAD models
  • Development of new products
  • Opportunities to identify for assembly procedure improvements
  • Identify and specify manufacturing processes

Useful Attributes:

  • MSc or higher in a STEM field
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Any experience with aerosol equipment or methods beneficial but non-essential
  • Computationally proficient (essential: CAD, Windows, Office packages, etc)
  • Simulation of mechanical processes (e.g. fluid mechanics, thermodynamics) using commercially available software
  • Excellent attention to detail and careful record keeping
  • Electrical engineering experience

Aerosol Scientist

Full time (40h/w) | 2.5-years contract, looking to permanent

Overview:

You will design, plan, and execute research projects in aerosol science and characterisation. You will  produce accurate scientific data, with the responsibility to analyse and report this data to colleagues and other research groups, aiding the evolution and improvement of the company’s consumer products.

 

You will be responsible for driving the development and improvement of aerosol characterisation methods within the company, including a central role in new product development.

 

Job Description:

Useful Attributes:

  • MSc or higher in a STEM field with emphasis on applied Science/Aerosol science
  • Excellent technical expertise in aerosol science/characterisation methods from either a pharmaceutical or academic background
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Aerosol measurement and data analysis (SMPS, CPC, etc)
  • Computationally proficient (Windows, Office packages, etc)
  • Excellent attention to detail and careful record keeping
  • Interest in engineering and principles- understanding how things work and how they go wrong

Engineering Technician

Full time (40h/w) or part time

Overview:

Ideal for candidates with an interest in assembly and troubleshooting of electronics and mechanical systems. You will be given full training to allow  you to develop skills across a broad range of areas as you become proficient with our scientific product range.

 

Job Description: 

  • Assembly of products
  • Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical systems
  • Calibration in a laboratory environment
  • Servicing products
  • Feed back diagnosed faults
  • Opportunities to identify for assembly procedure improvements

 

Useful Attributes:

  • Good hand eye co-ordination
  • Mechanically minded
  • Excellent attention to detail and careful record keeping
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for your own work, and capable of working in a team Workshop skills (hand and power tools)
  • Interest in engineering and principles- understanding how things work and how they go wrong
  • Competence with Windows PCs, including Excel for data manipulation
  • Applied physics and engineering background
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Experience of product assembly advantageous
